Plants start to bloom on Taal Volcano Island

Plants surrounding Taal Volcano start to bloom months after its phreatic eruption.

According to a report on “24 Oras” on Tuesday, several parts of the Taal Volcano Island, which was surrounded by volcanic ash after its eruption in January, now turned green once again.

Based on the photos taken by John Carlo Bagas Avelida, while most of the parts of the island are still covered in ash, some plants can still be seen.

Several houses were also destroyed and families and animals were displaced when Taal Volcano had a phreatic eruption on Jan. 12.

In March, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology downgraded the volcano’s alert status to Level 1 (abnormal). – Ma. Angelica Garcia/RC, GMA News
