2 hurt as Teresa, Rizal mayor survives ambush


The mayor of Teresa town in Rizal province, Raul Paulino, survived an ambush on Monday, though two individuals were hurt in the attack.

According to Rod Vega’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, auhtorities said Paulino was onboard a Toyota HiAce with his driver and body guard when armed men fired shots at their vehicle along E. Rodriguez Avenue in Barangay Poblacion.

The police said the driver, Joel Balahadya, and body guard, Roel Santos, were wounded. Palino, was not hit.

The victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment, while the suspects were able to escape.

An investigation on the incident is ongoing.
