NPA platoon leader, 2 others, surrender in Misamis Oriental

Three New People's Army combatants, including a platoon leader, surrendered to government forces in Misamis Oriental's Claveria town, the Philippine Army reported on Saturday.

Alias "Dino," the platoon leader of Platoon Ryan of the NPA North Central Mindanao Regional Command's (NCMRC's ) Subregional Committee 1 (SRC1) surrendered to the 58th Infantry "Dimalulupig" Battalion on Friday, June 19, 2020.

Surrendering along with Dino was his party wife, alias "Dina," also the platoon's medic, and alias "Jegs."

They also surrendered their rifles, an M653 and an AK-47; seven M-16 magazines; seven AK-47 magazines; several rounds of ammunition; a computer tablet; and subversive documents.

"Alias Dino and two others will be enrolled in the Enhanced Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) to receive benefits for choosing the road to peace," 58th Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Ricky Canatoy said. — DVM, GMA News
