154,000 Manila Water customers in Rizal to face 15-hour water interruption

Around 154,000 customers of the Manila Water Company Inc. are set to experience a 15-hour service interruption starting Thursday, due to an upgrade in the concessionaire's transmission network in the Rizal province.

In an advisory, Manila Water said the interruption will start 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, and will last until 8:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26.

The service interruption will affect some 30,755 households, commercial, and business establishments 19 barangays in Taytay, Angono, and Binangonan.

"To ensure reliability of water supply in its influence area, Manila Water will be upgrading its transmission network in Binangonan, Rizal," the company said.

The following barangays are affected: San Juan and Muzon in Taytay; San Isidro, San Roque, Sto. Nino, San Vicente, Kalayaan, San Pedro, Poblacion Ibaba, Poblacion Itaas, and Bagumbayan in Angono.

The list also includes barangays in Binangonan: Pag-asa, Tayuman, San Carlos, Tagpos, Bilibiran, Pantok, Palangoy, and Darangan.

Manila Water is the east zone concessionaire which services 23 cities and municipalities in Metro Manila and Rizal.

These include Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasig, Pateros, San Juan, Taguig, Marikina, and parts of Quezon City and Manila. The towns of Angono, Baras, Binangonan, Cainta, Cardona, Jalajala, Morong, Pililia, Rodriguez, Tanay, Taytay, Teresa, San Mateo and Antipolo in the province of Rizal are also part of the East Zone. —LDF, GMA News
