Almazan drug gang leader killed in Batangas City police operation

Police officers shot and killed alleged drug gang leader Mark Anthony “Michael” Almazan during an early Saturday morning operation in Batangas City.

According to a report on 24 Oras Weekend, Almazan had resisted arrest and law enforcers were forced to respond with deadly force.

Almazan was rushed to hospital, but he nevertheless expired from his injuries.

Eight other alleged members of the Almazan drug group were also arrested in several police operations in Laguna.

Among those arrested were Almazan's mother, brother, and live-in partner. All of them supposedly confessed to being involved in illegal drugs.

Days earlier, Almazan's right-hand man was killed in a Cavite police raid. — DVM, GMA News
