Kin of slain 15-year-old in pain over Fabel Pineda's fate

The loved ones of the 15-year-old who got killed after filing a complaint for acts of lasciviousness against a policeman in Ilocos Sur are in pain over what befell young Fabel Pineda.

"Ginawa nila ang gusto nila pero pinatay pa nila,” said the victim’s aunt in Mariz Umali's report on "24 Oras".

The Philippine National Police said murder charges were filed before the Provincial Prosecutor of Ilocos Sur against Police Staff Sergeants Randy Ramos and Marawi Torda from the San Juan Municipal Police Station on Friday.

The victim earlier filed a complaint against Tordo for alleged acts of lasciviousness, while rape charges were also filed against Ramos by the victim’s 18-year-old cousin.

According to the Cabugao Municipal Police Station, the two girls were arrested for violating the curfew and were allegedly drunk when the cops attacked them but the 15-year-old victim managed to get away.

The two suspects are now under restrictive custody at the Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office in Bantay town while awaiting further disposition.

Earlier, PNP chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa said he has directed the Internal Affairs Service to immediately dismiss from the police service the cops allegedly involved in the killing of the 15-year-old girl.

Meanwhile, Gamboa also ordered Police Regional Office 1 to provide security to the 18-year-old victim and her family and ensure the availability of all PNP prosecution witnesses in court proceedings to expedite the trial as well as administrative procedures. -Ma. Angelica Garcia/NB, GMA News
