Suspect in Jang Lucero slay case arrested

A suspect in the killing of Jang Lucero, a female driver in Laguna province, was arrested by authorities, according to the Calabarzon police on Tuesday.

Police identified the suspect as Ann Sheila Montes Belarmino, who was identified by the witnesses through CCTV footage as one of those allegedly involved in the killing of the 34-year-old victim.

Police said Belarmino was arrested last July 3 for the crime of murder. No bail was recommended for Belarmino, who is now detained at the Calamba City Police Station.

Meanwhile, authorities said follow-up operations are still ongoing to locate and nab the other five suspects of the crime.

Lucero's body was found inside her car on Sunday, June 28, parked on Bypass Road in Calamba. Her body bore 52 stab wounds.

She was laid to rest last July 6. —KBK, GMA News
