State of calamity declared in Magpet, Cotabato due to ASF

A state of calamity has been declared in Magpet, Cotabato due to the outbreak of the African Swine Fever, according to a report on “24 Oras News Alert” on Tuesday.

The provincial veterinary office said five barangays in Magpet have already been affected by the livestock disease.

A total of 261 hogs have already been killed, while 78 hog raisers have been affected.

The Department of Agriculture, meanwhile, promised financial assistance for the affected hog raisers.—AOL, GMA News
