San Fernando, Pampanga Vice Mayor Lazatin tests positive for COVID-19

San Fernando, Pampanga Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin said he has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a report by James Agustin on GMA News' Unang Balita.

In a Facebook post, Lazatin said his RT-PCR swab test result came back positive on Saturday.

He said he has had no travel history outside San Fernando, and neither could he identify a close contact who had COVID-19.

Lazatin said he has slight cough and is under quarantine.

"Sa mga taong aking nakasalamuha mula lunes, Hulyo 20, 2020, ipagbigay alam lamang po ito sa City Health Office o sa aking tanggapan para po kayo ay maisasailalim sa mandatory contract tracing and medical assessment," he said.

Meanwhile, Barangay Isidro in San Fernando, Pampanga was placed on 48-hour lockdown after a seaman tested positive for COVID-19.

He contracted the coronavirus from his wife.

Both of them are already in isolation.

The Department of Health on Monday said the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has reached 82,040. 

Total recoveries were 26,446 while the death toll climbed to 1,945. —KG, GMA News
