Batangas Vice Gov. Mark Leviste tests positive for COVID-19

Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste on Sunday confirmed he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Leviste told Dobol B sa News TV he underwent swab test on July 28 together with two household helpers.

Since then he has isolated himself at home away from his family.

The swab test results came back on Saturday. Leviste said he tested positive, while his two household helpers were negative.

"Hindi ako umaalis ng kuwarto," the vice governor said, adding that his family and household helpers were in a different part of the house.

He also said he is coordinating with authorities for contact tracing.

Leviste added he is taking a number of supplements such as zinc and vitamins at the moment to help his body fight the virus.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Leviste said he has had no symptoms of COVID-19 or any other illness.

"At this juncture, my earnest request is for your prayers," he said. —KG, GMA News
