PUMs in Pampanga return mattresses taken from quarantine facility

Ten persons under monitoring in Guagua, Pampanga returned the mattresses they took from the quarantine facility after appeals from Mayor Dante Torres.

According to Oscar Oida’s report on “24 Oras,” Torres on Wednesday took to social media to ask the PUMs to return the mattresses.

“‘Yong mga ginagamit niyo pong kutson, hindi po ‘yon kasali sa mga dinadala,” Torres said.

Torres said the staff were supposed to clean the rooms of the 10 PUMs when they discovered that the mattresses were missing.

“Noong pinalilinis ko na ‘yon para sa next batch naman, kasi marami kaming batch na ini-isolate namin, nawawala ‘yong sampu,” he said.

“Siguro akala nila souvenir item. Hindi ho souvenir item ang mga ‘yon. Kailangan ng gobyerno, ng munisipyo ‘yon,” he added.

On Sunday, the PUMs finally returned the mattresses. Torres said the PUMs left it at the guard house.

Meanwhile, Torres said he immediately ordered the disinfection of the mattresses to prevent the further spread of COVID-10. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
