Sara Duterte orders probe on Davao City grand wedding amid COVID-19 pandemic

Davao City Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio has expressed dismay over the grand wedding ceremony held in the city by a prominent family even amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a report by GMA Regional TV One Mindanao on Unang Balita on Thursday.

The wedding reportedly had many guests, including one that tested positive for COVID-19.

"Kinausap na ang organizer na, 'Look, what you are planning is really, ah, yung delikado yes, risky because it can possible be a source of spread sa infection sa COVID-19," Duterte-Carpio said.

Contact tracing for those who attended the wedding, to include the organizers and suppliers, has started.

Duterte-Carpio has also ordered an investigation on the possible violation to health protocols during the wedding. The investigation would include looking at pictures of the event to see if social distancing and wearing of face mask were observed.

"I-remind lang natin lahat na every time you violate health protocols, you kill another person," said Duterte-Carpio, daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte. —KBK, GMA News
