GenSan fish port to be locked down starting Sept 2

The General Santos City Fish Port Complex will be locked down starting Wednesday-September 2 to Tuesday-September 8.

According to Saleema Refran’s report on “24 Oras News Alert,” this was because the city’s five newest coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases were exposed in the complex.

The city-Inter Agency Task Force said that disinfection and contact tracing procedures would be carried out during the lockdown.

More than 100,000 workers will be affected while authorities estimate a P70 million loss in profits.

According to the Department of Health-GenSan, there were a total of 65 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city, of which 27 were active. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
