Castilla District Hospital in Sorsogon was temporarily closed due to COVID-19 infections

The Castilla District Hospital in Sorsogon was temporarily closed after a patient turned out positive for COVID-19, according to a report of 24 Oras Weekend on Saturday.

According to the local government unit, the patient was a close contact to a COVID-19 case who died due to the disease.

Healthcare workers and other personnel of the hospital will undergo isolation measures and those who had close contact with the infected patient will undergo swab test.

When the test results are out, the hospital will decide on the reopening of the health facility.

On Saturday, Sorsogon Provincial Information Office said that two medical frontliners and a cop were new COVID-19 cases in the province.

Citing information from the Provincial Health Office, Sorsogon PIO said the two medical frontliners are healthcare workers at the Rural Health Unit in the town of Pilar.

It added that the police personnel with COVID-19,  who is also six months pregnant, is designated at the Philippine National Police-Pilar.

“Ayon sa PHO, sila ay nakitaan ng mga sintomas ng sakit na dulot ng coronavirus at kasalukuyang naka-isolate sa isang Provincial Quarantine Facility,” the Sorsogon PIO said.

“Sa ngayon, mayroong kabuuang 123 kaso ng COVID-19 sa buong lalawigan ng Sorsogon, 28 nito ay aktibo, 90 ang naka-recover na at lima ang pumanaw na mula sa sakit na dulot ng COVID-19 virus,” it added. —Joviland Rita/LBG, GMA News
