Family of 5, including two minors, die in Laguna fire

A family of five, including two minors, were killed in a third-alarm fire that razed a warehouse in Magdalena, Laguna.

According to Saleema Refran’s Sunday report on “24 Oras Weekend,” the fire broke out in a warehouse for ready to wear clothes and bags in Barangay Poblacion.

“Umabot po tayo ng third alarm dahil nga po sa dami no’ng combustible materials do’n na stocks. Hindi nagbabago ‘yung apoy, ang laki. Kaya po tayo nagtaas ng third alarm,” Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Magdalena chief Edwin Placente said.

The fire was put out after two hours.

While firemen were assessing the site of the incident, they were informed that a family was trapped in a house near the stockroom.

The victims were already lifeless when their bodies were found.
