Lanao del Sur guv implements no movement Sunday, online madrasah classes under MECQ

A list of mandatory, permissible, prohibited actions in Lanao del Sur has been issued by the provincial governor on Monday as the province was placed under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) due to an alarming increase in the number and transmission of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

Governor Mamintal Adiong Jr. issued Executive Order No. 15 series of 2020 ordering that entire Lanao del sur province, including Marawi City, with approval from the National Task Force Ahainst COVID-19 under MECQ from Sept. 7 up to Sept. 30, 2020.

With the order, residents would have to comply with strict health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Among the guidelines of restriction imposed is the "No Movement Day," which states that "No person will be allowed to go out every Sundays except for emergency purposes and Authorized Persons outside Residence (APOR)."

Congregations in mosques is allowed but administrators should implement health protocols and only allow up to 50 percent capacity.

Social gatherings such as weddings, dialaga, kandori, sporting events, non-essential work gatherings are strictly prohibited.

As to schools and madrasah, "only distance learning modalities and no face-to-face classes are allowed in all levels."

Residents are required to use face masks and observe curfew hours from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. the next day.

For business establishments allowed to open during the MECQ are required to implement a "no face mask, no entry" policy, observe physical distancing and provide disinfection measures and other preventive measures.

Public Utility Vehicles should require passengers to wear face masks and only fill up to 50 percent of the capacity.

Local government units are to organize emergency centers and control points in the province. -- BAP, GMA News
