4-month-old baby with COVID-19 dies in Occidental Mindoro

A four-month-old baby girl who had COVID-19 has died in Occidental Mindoro, according to a report on 24 Oras News Alert on Saturday.

The baby was the 63rd case of COVID-19 in the province, the Provincial Governor's Office said.

The local government said she had no travel history and no known history of exposure to a confirmed COVID-19 case.

The baby had cough and difficulty of breathing, and was brought to the hospital on the evening of September 11.

However, she passed away in the early hours of Sept. 12.

A swab test confirmed that the baby had COVID-19. The cause of death was reported as respiratory failure and aspiration pneumonia.

Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the province was 63.

Of this number, 56 recovered, and three died. Four cases are active. —KG, GMA News
