Officials seize hygiene products with DepEd logo that contain liquid marijuana

Several bottles of hygiene products bearing the logo of the Department of Education (DepEd) were seized after the items were found to contain liquid marijuana, according to a report on Saksi on Monday.

The bottles of soap and toothpaste from China were confiscated at the Clark International Airport in Pampanga.

The items were ordered by a company and were supposed to be used as sample products by the education department for students.

However, after the laboratory test conducted on the samples showed these contained liquid marijuana, which is considered an illegal substance in the country.

The authorities arrested two representatives of the said company, who said they did not know that the products contained marijuana.

The products, the representatives said, were bought through online transaction and that the DepEd logo may have been placed in China.

The Department of Education (DepEd) has yet to issue a statement on the incident. -- BAP, GMA News
