Soldier killed, two others hurt in PMA shooting

One soldier was killed while two others, including the gunman, were wounded after a member of the Air Force allegedly fired his rifle inside the Philippine Military Academy late Tuesday afternoon.

Initial investigation showed that the suspect approached the two soldiers and opened fire with his M-16.

One of the soldiers was declared dead on the spot.

The suspect and the other victim reportedly engaged in a scuffle and were both brought to the PMA Station Hospital.

They were later transferred to the Baguio General Hospital. 

Authorities initially withheld information on the identities of those involved pending the notification of their loved ones.

A statement later indicated that the suspect, an airman second class, fired indiscriminately inside their barracks.

The cadets were said to be located far away from the incident and were safe. -NB/KG, GMA News
