2-year-old girl latest COVID-19 case in Balayan, Batangas; total 183

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Balayan, Batangas climbed to 183 after three new cases were recorded, including a two-year-old girl, according to a report on 24 Oras News Alert on Saturday.

In a Facebook post on Friday, the Balayan local government said that the girl, tagged as Patient No.183, had direct contact with an infected person.

“Walang naitalang pagbyahe sa labas ng ating bayan ngunit nagkaroon ng direct exposure o direct contact sa ating Patient No. 164,” it said.

According to the municipal government, the girl is symptomatic.

As of Friday, a total of 109 recoveries and 10 fatalities were recorded in Balayan. At least 64 are still active cases.

The infected persons and their close contacts are undergoing quarantine, while contact tracing is still ongoing.

The municipal government of Balayan reminded residents to follow minimum health protocols against the spread of the coronavirus.

“Magkaroon ng disiplina sa sarili upang makatulong na masugpo ang pagkalat ng COVID-19 sa ating bayan. Magkaisa tayo para sa panibagong bukas na haharapin ng bawat isa,” it added.  —LBG, GMA News
