Ilocos Norte records COVID-19 case after 9 days without new infections


After nine days of no new infection, the province of Ilocos Norte recorded a new COVID-19 case, according to a report on 24 Oras News Alert on Saturday.

The new case is an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Kuwait who just returned to Vintar town. The 34-year-old male is asymptomatic.

As of Saturday, the total number of confirmed cases in the province was recorded at 124, with 109 recoveries, and 1 death.

At least 14 are still active cases.

“All COVID-19 patients, including suspect and probable cases admitted in our respective hospitals and quarantine facilities, are receiving proper treatment,” the provincial government said in a Facebook post on Saturday.

“Tune into the official pages of Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, and the PGIN Communications and Media Office for further updates,” it added. —LBG, GMA News
