GSIS office in Aklan temporarily closed until Oct. 16 for disinfection

KALIBO, Aklan - The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) office in Kalibo, Aklan was temporarily closed for disinfection amid the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in the province.

The Kalibo office will be closed until October 16, according to an advisory posted on Facebook.

All employees will undergo RT-PCR swab test and be under mandatory quarantine, the office said.

Sanitation and contact tracing will be done during the time the Kalibo office is closed.

GSIS Aklan also said officers and employees will still work during this time under alternative work arrangements.

Clients who will need to transact with the office may email rnabella@gsis.gov.ph, visit their Facebook page GSIS Aklan Extension Office, or use the dropbox at the office entrance. They may also contact the regional office in Iloilo City.

Based on data from the Provincial Epidemiology Service Unit, Aklan has recorded 131 cases of COVID-19 so far.

Of this number, seven have died while 107 recovered.

Kalibo has recorded the most number of COVID-19 cases in the province with 69 infections.
