2 soldiers, 2 CAAs hurt in anti-personnel mine blast in Maguindanao

Two government troops were injured after an anti-personnel mine exploded in Ampatuan, Maguindanao on Friday morning, the Armed Forces Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) said.

The military said troops from the Joint Task Force Central were conducting a road and mine-clearing operations in Barangay Salman when the anti-personnel mine exploded.

Aside from the two soldiers, two other members of the Civilian Active Auxiliary were also hurt in the blast.

The victims were brought to Tamondong Hospital for treatment.

WestMinCom chief Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan Jr. said troops continue to conduct security operations in the area to prevent any terror activities by lawless elements. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
