Quinta brings heavy rains, strong winds over Batangas, Quezon, Mindoro
Typhoon Quinta (international name: Molave) brought heavy rains and strong winds over Batangas, Quezon and Oriental Mindoro, among others, on Monday.
In Batangas City, the heavy rains and strong winds were felt starting 4 a.m., according to GMA News reporter Darlene Cay.
In Lopez, Quezon, the strong winds and heavy rains were felt past 12 a.m. as the typhoon was then traversing the province on its way to Marinduque, as seen in GMA News reporter JP Soriano's video.

Huge waves were also seen in Atimonan, Quezon on Sunday night, as seen in the video shared by provincial and municipal disaster officials.

In Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, the Balatero Port could be seen being battered by strong waves, heavy rains and strong winds as of 6:40 a.m., in the video shared by YouScooper Rose Aldovino Cabuhal.

Meanwhile, in Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro, the winds were also strong as could be seen in the video shared by a YouScooper.

The southern portions of Quezon and Batangas as well as the northern and central portions of Oriental Mindoro were among the areas placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 as of 5 a.m. on Monday.
These areas will have destructive typhoon-force winds with speed of 121-170 km/h, and may experience heavy damage to high-risk structures, PAGASA said.
Classes in all levels in Quezon were already canceled due to the bad weather. —KG, GMA News
