38 people in Aurora, including children fall ill after eating ice cream

There were 38 individuals who were rushed to the Casiguran District Hospital in Aurora province for exhibiting symptoms linked to food poisoning, according to the report of Bam Alegre on Saksi on Wednesday.

Julie Ann Jandok said her child felt dizzy, weak, was vomiting and looked pale. So she brought him to the hospital.

At the Casiguran District Hospital, she found out that there were 37 other patients who exhibited similar symptoms.

The patients, aged between one and 19, all ate ice cream before they started having stomach ache, vomiting and diarrhea.

"Ang nakita ko sa apo ko, parang namumuti na ang labi. Pinagpapawisan at saka nagsusuka," said Armando Fernandez.

All the patients were declared out of danger after treatment and have been discharged from the hospital.

The father of the ice cream vendor, Mang Apolinario, said the cause could have been the coconut milk used.

"Nawalan ng kuryente, tapos hindi niya naluto. 'Yun ang masasabi niya. Siyempre ako, hindi ko akalain na ganun," he said. -- BAP, GMA News
