Bulacan cop relieved over alleged rape

A Bulacan cop was relieved from his post after being accused of raping a woman who was arrested for alleged curfew violation, the Central Luzon police bared on Thursday.

Police Regional Office III chief Police Brigadier General Valeriano De Leon ordered the immediate relief of Police Lieutenant Jimmy Fegcan, a member of the San Miguel Police Station.

Authorities said the 24-year-old victim accused the cop of raping her in the dawn of October 28 inside the policeman's barracks.

“I ordered his immediate relief pending the investigation being conducted. We will not condone this misdemeanor and appropriate charges will be filed against him, both administrative and criminal if warrants," De Leon said.

"This is a clear manifestation of our keen determination to remove misfits among the ranks of our organization," he added.
