Catanduanes residents assure families: Okay lang kami dito

With telecommunications networks still down after Typhoon Rolly lashed Catanduanes, residents on Tuesday assured their families through GMA News' “24 Oras” that they had survived the storm.

In Ian Cruz’ report, several residents let their families in Metro Manila and other areas know that they were safe even after Rolly hit the province.

Ngayon lang ako nakalabas ng bayan dahil walang madaanan,” another woman said.

Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua said they were unsure when power and network services will be restored, but vowed to continue working with telcos and electric cooperatives to restore toppled electric posts.

According to the National Electrification Administration (NEA), the initial cost of damage brought by Rolly's onslaught to electric cooperatives (ECs) in affected areas has so far reached P30.5 million-Julia Mari Ornedo/MDM, GMA News
