Rizal police to determine if Angono cops had lapses in securing shooting victim Adia

The leadership of the Rizal Provincial Police Office will determine if Angono cops had lapses in securing Vincent Adia, the shooting victim who was shot dead while being treated at a hospital last Wednesday.

In a television interview on ANC on Friday, Angono police chief Police Major Richard Corpuz said they were summoned by the provincial police office as part of the investigation on the case.

"Ngayon under investigation, pinatatawag tayo ng provincial office para madetermine 'yung lapses ng PNP sa pagse-secure doon sa tao," Corpuz said.

Corpuz strongly denied allegations that Angono cops were involved in killing Adia. He added policemen were the ones who brought Adia at Rizal Provincial Hospital System Annex in Barangay San Isidro after the first shooting incident.

"Sa Angono police station, wala pong kinalaman ang police station natin dahil kami nga po 'yung nagdala sa biktima mula sa area kung saan siya unang nakita and then noong nalaman natin na buhay pa, pinadala natin sa hospital. Dinala 'yan, tumawag tayo ng ambulansya," Corpuz said.

Isolated case

Corpuz branded the incident as an isolated case. He vowed that security adjustments would be made so that the incident will not happen again.

He said cops already asked the CCTV footage from the hospital to help in the investigation of the case. Corpuz is hoping that it could be released within the day.

Police are also checking Adia's criminal records to determine if he was also involved in other lawless activities aside from robbery. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
