Catanduanes residents call on Duterte, Willie Revillame for aid

Gigmoto, Catanduanes residents who are struggling with the damage caused by  Super Typhoon Rolly sought help from President Rodrigo Duterte and TV host Willie Revillame.

In Ian Cruz’s Friday report on “24 Oras,” residents said that they only received 4 kilos of rice from the municipality since the typhoon struck. Locals had no other source for help as their town was isolated.

Eh, lahat ng produkto namin nasira,” she added.

Another resident tearfully sought help from Revillame - an actor known for his donations.

Wala,” She added.

Though the townspeople had evacuated to safer ground, a male resident of Barangay Biong died due to Rolly.

Ayaw iwanan ‘yung kapalayan, ‘yung mga hayop niya doon,” Gigmoto Mayor Vicente Tayam Jr. said. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
