Catanduanes prepares for inclement conditions from Ulysses

Catanduanes started preparing for the rains expected from Tropical Depression Ulysses even as the province was still struggling to recover from Super Typhoon Rolly.

According to Ian Cruz’s report on “Balitanghali” on Monday, residents and authorities were bracing themselves for the rains and winds from Ulysses.

Rolly damaged more than 300 houses in Barangay Batalay in Bato, Catanduanes.

Communications in Catanduanes was still limited due to severely damaged towers and power posts.

Residents were meanwhile advised to stay in evacuation centers.

Earlier, PAGASA predicted that Ulysses would intensify into a typhoon before its possible landfall somewhere over the Bicol Region and Quezon Province.

PAGASA said Ulysses would intensify into a tropical storm within 24 hours while it was moving northwestward. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/DVM, GMA News
