Flood traps scores of people on roofs for 3 days straight in Cagayan

Without food and water, nearly a hundred people have been trapped on rooftops for three days since Typhoon Ulysses ripped through Luzon on Wednesday.

In a phone interview on Dobol B sa News TV on Saturday, resident Ramilo Lagundi of Zone 6, Linao East, Tuguegarao City said they have been trapped on roofs for three days without food and water, and uncertain whether rescue would come.

"Marami pong nandito nalang sa mga bubong dahil sa baha sa lugar namin... sa purok namin po kulang-kulang isang daan po. Wala po kaming makakain, walang tubig. Nananawagan po kami ng rescue," Lagundi said.

He suspected that half of Cagayan Valley is submerged in floodwaters spawned by  Typhoon Ulysses.

Lagundi appealed for emergency help as they have no food and water for days, and a five-month-old baby is among their group. —LBG, GMA News
