Kabankalan City Hall in Negros Occidental closed for disinfection after COVID-19 cases

The Kabankalan City Hall in Negros Occidental was closed for disinfection after eight of its employees tested positive for COVID-19, according to a report on 24 Oras News Alert on Saturday.

The local government plans to have all employees undergo RT-PCR swab test to determine if there are any more of them who got infected by the novel coronavirus.

Local officials said stricter health protocols will be implemented starting Monday when the City Hall reopens.

A total of 423 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kabankalan as of Nov. 20.

Of this number, 56 are active, 360 recovered, while seven died.

The Department of Health on Friday reported 1,639 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the total tally of cases to 415,067, as eight laboratories failed to submit reports on time.

Of this number, total recoveries were at 375,237 while the death toll was at 8,025. —KG, GMA News
