Only those 15 to 65-years-old allowed in Cavite malls, Remulla clarifies

Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla on Friday clarified that minors aged 14 and below are still not allowed to go to malls amid the community quarantine.

In a Facebook post, Remulla said only those aged 15 to 65 years old shall be permitted to enter shopping centers.

Remulla apologized for making an earlier announcement saying that accompanied minors, aged 10 years and above, are already allowed to go to malls

. Citing Interior Secretary Eduardo Año, Remulla said there is no clear policy yet regarding the matter.

"I was wrong to be too enthusiastic in the resumption of personal freedom for the people of Cavite. I take full responsibility and I apologize," Remulla said.

"Ang kagustuhan ko lang naman ay mapagbigyan ang mga kabataan na matagal nang naka-bartolina sa bahay," he added.

In Metro Manila, mayors decided that they will not allow minors to go out, except for essentials such as physical exercises, as the threat of COVID-19 pandemic remains.

The mayors come up with the decision after having a discussion with the Philippine Pediatric Society. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ/KBK, GMA News
