One gate of Magat Dam in Isabela remained open on Sunday morning, PAGASA said in its dam status report.

As of 6 a.m., Magat Dam had one gate open at one meter.

The water level at 6 a.m. Sunday at the dam is 188.72 meters.

This is lesser than the 188.91 meters water level at 6 a.m. on Saturday. One gate was also open on Saturday at one meter.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said the Above Alert Level was raised over the Middle and Lower Cagayan River and tributaries as of 7 a.m.

The riverside in these areas may experience slight flooding, it said.

PAGASA said Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with rains on Sunday due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan).

Residents were warned of possible flash floods or landslides during times of moderate to heavy rains.

Cagayan and Isabela were heavily flooded last month after Typhoon Ulysses dumped heavy rains over the areas. The release of water from Magat Dam was also seen as a contributing factor to the flooding. —KG, GMA News
