Over 250 families in Maguindanao town flee due to suspected BIFF attack

Some 258 families in South Upi, Maguindanao were forced to evacuate due to an attack believed to be by militant group Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF).

According to a report on GMA's "24 Oras," the evacuation happened after suspected BIFF rebels attacked a Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) detachment in the area, noting that evacuees now need food and shelter.

The Timuay Justice and Governance in the area also said that the number of evacuees could still climb, considering that the rebel group is still in the area. Additional details were not immediately available.
