Cebu province declares 31 areas COVID-free

A total of 31 areas in the province of Cebu have already been declared COVID-19 free.

Citing information from the integrated provincial health office, a report on Super Radyo dzBB by John Kim Bote on Thursday said the COVID-free areas include 30 municipalities and one city.

According to the report, the improvement was due to the strict compliance of residents with health protocols.

In Cebu City, 52 out of the 80 barangays have been free from COVID-19, the report said, citing data from the city's health office.

Mayor Edgar Labella, the report said,  has offered P100,000 reward for barangays that have achieved zero COVID-19 infections beginning November until December this year.

So far, 26 barangays will receive the promised P100,000 reward.

The local government has encouraged residents to continue following minimum health standards to prevent the spread of the disease.  —LBG, GMA News
