Leave of absence granted single employees in Quezon to 'find true love'

General Luna, Quezon Mayor Matt Erwin has granted single employees of the city government to go on a paid leave of absence on Thursday, the 11th of February 2021.

In a social media post, Florido said "Ilaan nyo ang buong araw sa paghahanap ng inyong forever upang makaabot kayo sa February 14."

"With pay ang leave nyo, kase naka support ako sa pinagdadaanan nyo. Ok? Lab u!"

Florido, in an interview with GMA News, said the objective of his action is to make sure everyone will be happy during the celebration of Valentine's Day amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The paid leave is part of the reward for the employees, for their diligence in performing their duties.

In his Facebook post, Florido said the long weekend - with the celebration of the Chinese New Year - could be enough time for the employees to find their true love. -- Peewee Bacuno/BAP, GMA News
