1 dead, 2 missing in Caraga due to Auring —NDRRMC


One person was reported dead, while two others are missing in Caraga Region due to the onslaught of Auring, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Tuesday.

In an update to reporters, NDRRMC said a total of 31,884 families in Caraga, Davao, Northern Mindanao, and Bicol Regions were affected by the weather disturbance.

A total of 18,996 families in Caraga, Davao, Northern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Western Visayas have evacuated from their homes due to the threat of Auring.

In Caraga and Davao Regions, at least 60 houses were totally damaged while 180 were partially damaged.

A total of 11 roads and two bridges were affected by the weather disturbance in Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and Davao Regions, according to NDRRMC.

NDRRMC noted that these data are still undergoing validation.

On Monday, state weather bureau PAGASA said Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal has been lifted as Tropical Depression Auring downgraded into a low pressure area (LPA).—AOL, GMA News
