Cebu bishops recover from COVID-19, discharged from hospital

Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma and retired Auxiliary Bishop Antonio Rañola have been discharged from the hospital on Sunday, according to the report posted on the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) website.

Palma and Rañola arrived at the Archbishop's residence at around 5:00 p.m. after spending 10 days in the hospital where they underwent treatment for COVID-19.

The archbishop, in a video message, expressed his gratitude towards medical workers who treated them and those who prayed for their speedy recovery.

“It’s nice to be home to resume our duties and ministries,” Palma was quoted as saying.

The prelate also asked for prayers for the others who are still ill and for those who died of the disease.

“For us who are given another opportunity to continue our ministry, we say praise God,” he said. -- BAP, GMA News
