Police nab man wanted for murder, allegedly frying and eating the leg of his drinking buddy

A man who allegedly stabbed to death then fried and ate the leg of his drinking buddy was arrested by police authorities in Bulacan a year after he committed the crime, according to Emil Sumangil’s report on “State of the Nation.”

According to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Bulacan, the crime originated from the argument between the suspect, Marlon Cruz, and the victim, Roger Herrera, on his electricity bill.

“Nung panahon na iyon ay nag-iinuman itong mga ano natin, itong subject natin kasama nung iba niyang kasama, eh pumunta 'tong biktima. At doon nagpangabot sila, nagkaroon ng heated argument… and doon na nga nangyari ‘yung papamaslang,” CIDG Bulacan chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Luke Ventura said.

Authorities said that after stabbing the victim, Cruz burned his body, chopped and fried his leg, and then ate it.

“Siguro ay dala na lang siguro ng ano, ng ano nung subject siguro kalasingan. At sobrang ano nila, sobrang galit o ano, kaya nagawa iyon,” Ventura said.

Cruz, meanwhile, denied the allegations against him.

“Kami lang po ang nag-away, tumulong po ang tiyuhin ko pero siya po ang pumatay. Hiniwa ho niya ‘yung binti, tsaka ho niya pinirito, tsaka po niya kinain. Hindi lang po nakain dahil makunat daw po,” Cruz said.

However, Ventura said the person the suspect is referring to is not included in the warrant of arrest.
