21k doses of COVID-19 vaccines arrive in Zamboanga, Tuguegarao

A total of 21,000 doses of vaccines against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) arrived in Zamboanga and Tuguegarao on Friday, according to budget carrier Cebu Pacific.

The 35 boxes of the vaccines, of which 17 were delivered to Zamboanga and 18 to Tuguegarao, arrived at the Cebu Pacific Cargo Warehouse at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Upon arrival in Zamboanga on Friday morning, Cebu Pacific said the vaccines were turned over to the local government for proper handling, Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific said the shipment for Tuguegarao was expected to arrive at 3 p.m.

The vaccines were carried by CebGo, the operator of Cebu Pacific’s turboprop fleet.

CebGo President Alex Reyes expressed pride in supporting the rollout of the government’s inoculation program against COVID-19.

“As a public service with the widest domestic network, we will do all we can to help ensure the timely and successful distribution of vaccines across the country, as we all work together to pave way for the recovery of our economy,” Reyes said in a statement. -MDM, GMA News
