Antipolo hospital's operating, delivery rooms temporarily closed

The operating and delivery rooms of the Antipolo Hospital System Annex IV in Barangay Mambugan, Antipolo City in Rizal were temporarily closed after five health workers tested positive for COVID-19.

In a Facebook post, Antipolo City Mayor Andrea Ynares said the health workers infected were nurses, doctors and a midwife.

Due to the temporary closure, Ynares said scheduled operations will be relocated to the ACHS Annex I in Barangay de la Paz, Annex II in Barangay Dalig, and Annex III in Cabading.

Meanwhile, the hospital’s emergency room and out-patient department will remain open to the public.

Ynares said normal operations of the operating and delivery rooms in Annex IV will resume on March 15.

The Antipolo City government started last week its inoculation against COVID-19 with its 100 health workers.

A total of 300 doses of China’s Sinovac vaccines were initially given to the city.

The country is aiming to vaccinate 1.7 million health workers first before proceeding to the inoculation of other priority sectors.  —Ma. Angelica Garcia/KBK, GMA News
