Negros Oriental solon Limkaichong tests positive for COVID-19

Negros Oriental Representative Jocelyn Sy Limkaichong on Monday announced she tested positive for COVID-19.

In a Facebook post, Limkaichong said she was asymptomatic and undergoing quarantine in Manila.

“Despite strictly following health protocols and being extra careful in public spaces, I still acquired the virus,” Limkaichong said.

She said she already informed all her close contacts about her health condition and urged them to be tested for COVID-19 as well.

“To be safe from COVID, no less than an abundance of caution is necessary. The current outbreak is a matter that we must take seriously if we want to put an end to this pandemic,” Limkaichong said.

Cases of COVID-19 in the country reached 626,893 on Monday. Active cases are at 53,479, the second highest number of active cases recorded this year. -Ma. Angelica Garcia/NB, GMA News
