Famy, Laguna mayor succumbs to COVID-19

Famy, Laguna Mayor Edwin Pangilinan passed away on Sunday due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). He was 53 years old.

GMA News Online confirmed the mayor's passing with the  Laguna Public Affairs Office.

Pangilinan’s mother Lucena also succumbed to the respiratory illness. She was 76.

According to the PAO, the mayor was brought to the hospital on March 15 after experiencing difficulty breathing.

He was tested for COVID-19 on the same day.

His results came back positive on March 16. — DVM, GMA News
