9 hurt as dump truck plows into queue of cash aid beneficiaries in Bulacan


Nine people were hurt Tuesday morning after a dump truck whose driver had a heart attack while driving crashed into a crowd claiming their financial assistance at the city hall of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

Of those injured, five were rushed to the hospital with two in critical condition, while four sustained minor injuries, according to a Super Radyo dzBB report by Allan Gatus.

Based on the information from the San Jose del Monte Police Station, the incident happened at around 7:40 a.m. while the victims were in line to receive their cash grant.

Initial information from the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) identified five of those injured as Rolito Navarro, Mario dela Rosa, Analyn Tomooc, Mary Rose Espacio and Cecilia de Ramo.

Those who had minor injuries refused to be brought to the hospital.

The driver, who was identified as Herminio Verona, reportedly had a heart attack while driving the vehicle owned by the city hall.

The POSO personnel reported that the driver already had no pulse upon checking his body. The driver was brought to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
