Rains from Dante cause flooding in parts of South Cotabato

Heavy rains from the trough of Tropical Depression Dante caused flooding in some parts of South Cotabato.

Floodwaters affected some houses and rice fields in the towns of Banga and Norala, according to a report on News TV Live on Sunday.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office sent emergency responders to assist residents and assess the damage.

The tropical depression located east of Mindanao entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 1 a.m. on Sunday and was named Dante.

In its 11 a.m. bulletin, weather bureau PAGASA said Dante is expected to bring rains, which may at times be heavy, over Caraga and Davao Region in the next 24 hours.
