Cats, dogs believed poisoned in Bacolod subdivision

Several cats and dogs were found dead in a Bacolod City neighborhood, according to a report on "24 Oras" on Tuesday.

Residents believed that four dogs and a cat were poisoned because they were digging up the trash in a subdivision in the area.

"Oo, nilalason ang mga hayop, 'yong mga mahal pa na aso. Kawawa naman," one of the residents said.

(Yes they were poisoned, some of the dogs were the expensive kind. It's sad.)

CARE Philippines took care of the burial of the animals.

"We need to educate irresponsible pet owners and also educate non-animal lovers that animal cruelty is not acceptable," CARE organizer Ai-Ai Gamboa said.

Authorities are also investigating the matter to be able to file charges against individuals responsible for the poisonings.
