Murder complaints filed vs 24 suspects in Kieth Absalon’s death; 1 arrested —PRO5


At least 24 suspects behind the bomb and gun attack in Masbate City that killed Far Eastern University football player Kieth Absalon and his relative Nolven are now facing murder complaints, the Police Regional Office 5 said on Wednesday.

Frustrated murder complaints were also filed against the suspects for Nolven's son, Chrysvine Daniel Absalon, who sustained injuries but survived the incident.

The police also said a complaint for violation of the Anti-Terrorism Act will also be filed against the suspects.

It added that a total of 210 copies/sets of case folders were submitted to the panel of prosecutors namely: Aris Montilla, Regalado Ballares, Darwin Demin, and Genevieve Torres of the City Prosecution Office, Masbate City for subsequent filing to the court.

In a statement, the PRO5 said one of the suspects identified as  Mariel Cañete Suson, 45, was nabbed on Tuesday through an arrest warrant. She is now under the custody of Masbate City Police Station.

Police said Suson was also one of the suspects in the killing of Renerio Villamor  in  Barangay Pawa, Masbate City on March 15, 2020.

According to the police, she was also the daughter of Rogelio Suson or “Manong/Julio,” who was allegedly a secretary of groups “KLG,” “KP4,” and “BRPC” in the city.

  • Lloyd Mores Escorel
  • Ronel Plana Rodio @Ka Moting
  • Jomar Tugbo or “Ka Alden”
  • Jemuel Dublin
  • Allan Goyala
  • Dolores Bilibit y Rapsing or “Ka Oyeng”
  • Jhun Bilibit y Rapsing or “Ka Paka”
  • Lenie Cabarles or “Ka Onang”
  • Richard Laurio or “Ka Nonem”
  • Rolly Hermina
  • Jesmar Noel Jesmar or “Ka Jesmar”
  • Marla Cañete Suson
  • Maila Cañete Suson
  • Gilbert Turing
  • Allan Uling y Sabala

The PRO5, headed by Police Brigadier General Jonnel Estomo, continues to locate the suspects.

On June 6, a bomb and gun attack perpetrated by the New People’s Army killed Kieth and his relative Nolven.

“Hindi nagtatapos ang ating responsibilidad sa pagsampa ng kaso sa mga nasabing salarin bagkus lalo nating pagsisikapang maibigay sa pamilya ng mga nabiktima ang sigaw  itong hustisya at bigyan ng kapanatagan ang ating mamayan para sa isang ligtas at tahimik na komunidad,” Estomo said.

The PRO5 thanked the community members who coordinated with the police to shed light on the incident.

Communist rebels previously expressed remorse over the incident saying that they will take full responsibility and launch an independent investigation into the killing.—AOL, GMA News
