Children rescued from mom forcing one of them to use drugs

Two children in Cebu City were rescued by authorities after their mother allegedly forced one of them to use drugs.

According to a report on "24 Oras" on Wednesday, personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development and operatives from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) rescued an 8-month-old baby and a 2-year-old boy in Barangay Mambaling.

Authorities said the children's mother allegedly forced the 2-year-old to use drugs so he would stop crying.

"We were shocked to know na itong mga bata pinapagamit mismo ng kanilang ina. That is very abhorring," NBI-7 director Rennan Agustos said.

Authorities said they will file a case against the mother. 

The children are currently under the custody of the DSWD. -MDM, GMA News
