Tuguegarao under ECQ from August 12 to 21, 2021


Tuguegarao City has been placed under enhanced community quarantine from 12:01 a.m. of August 12 until 12:00 a.m. of August 21 to curb the steep rise in its number of COVID-19 cases , the city government announced on Tuesday night.

On Facebook, the city information office said the move was made after the city recorded an average daily attack rate of 31.80%, said to be the highest among provinces and cities in the Cagayan Valley.

It also recorded nine COVID-19 deaths in a day.

Previously, the national government placed all areas in Cagayan under GCQ with heightened restrictions until August 15.

Under Executive Order No. 98, Tuguegarao Mayor Jefferson Soriano ordered that mass gatherings are prohibited, with religious gatherings limited to online masses.

Food establishments, talipapas and satellite markets will operate daily but only take-out and deliveries are allowed.

Sale and consumption of liquor are also banned during the ECQ, read the order.

Those aged below 18 and those above 65 years old are not allowed outside.

Curfew hours from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. is also enforced for the duration of the lockdown.

Further, public transportation is suspended in the city during ECQ. —NB, GMA News
